Pokhara Adventure – Nepal Post Tour Extension
This Pokhara adventure is an adventure sports lover’s dream. The Pokhara Valley is one of the most picturesque in Nepal offering a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, which boasts some of the highest peaks in the world, over 7000m! As the town itself is only 850m in elevation and the distance to the snow clad mountains 40 km, the view becomes even more impressive as the massif literally looms over the valley. Several lakes (known as Tal in Nepali) within the valley also add beauty to the setting.
This tour extension will lead you through the sights of this quaint lakeside town, give you time to relax after our tea tour, and have you soaring through some of the highest mountains in the world. All Pokhara packages include breakfast, lunch, and dinner unless otherwise noted, English speaking guide, transport to and from Kathmandu, and entrance fees and activities.
Day 1 – Kathmandu/Pokhara
The first day includes transfer to the Kathmandu domestic airport. From there, you will fly to Pokhara and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel. For the rest of the afternoon, you are free to explore Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful town on the banks of Phewa lake. The downtown has an eclectic mix of cafes, yoga centers, crafts galleries, and restaurants. Enjoy strolling the town, relaxing in your room, or perhaps, taking a boat ride on the lake. Dinner will be provided at a local lakeside restaurant.
Day 2 – Pokhara
Your second day in Pokhara will be full of adventure! First, wake up early and enjoy an ultra-light flight. Strap into a small, open air, 2 seat, fixed wing aircraft and soar through the Himalayas. You will see the beautiful Annapura range from an entirely new perspective. This once in a lifetime joy ride is an optional activity, but it is highly recommended.
After your ultralight flights, you will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before continuing on to a sightseeing tour of Pokhara. Lead by your English speaking guide, you will get to enjoy the sights of Pokhara, including the Peace Stupa, and learn about the unique history of this part of Nepal. After your tour, you will be free find lunch in the town on your own.
After your sightseeing tour, you will get another chance to soar among the high Himalayas on a paragliding adventure. Paragliding is a free flying, foot launched glider (similar to a large parachute). Depending on weather and air currents, paragliding flights can last anywhere from a few minutes to almost an hour. This is a great way to float through the air and experience the amazing panorama or Pokhara.
In the evening, you will have some extra time to explore the town before enjoying dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 – Pokhara/Kathmandu
On your third day in Pokhara, you will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the Pokhara airport and returning to Kathmandu. If this is the end of your journey through Nepal, you will travel by private transport to the Kathmandu International Airport for your return flight.
Note: If you are continuing on to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will depart for the trek directly from Pokhara and not return to Kathmandu
