Bai Hao

Description

This Bai Hao, meaning White Hair, oolong tea is a beautiful example of Dong Fang Mei Ren tea production.  Dong Fang Mei Ren, or Eastern Beauty, is a type of tea created with the help of a special leaf hopper insect.  This leaf hopper feeds on the tea plant causing the plants internal chemistry to change, creating a totally unique flavor in the leaf.  This Bai Hao is beautifully rolled with curly leaves and large, fuzzy white buds.  The tea brews a wonderful golden amber color and has a savory sweet flavor.  Hints of cinnamon and allspice balance with a sweet honey flavor and aromas of roasted chestnuts.
